The meeting will be held the first Thursday of the month Sept thru May.
It will be held at the Ramada Inn at 5005 34^th St. NO (also known as US 19) in St. Pete from 7 to 10 PM. The room will be open at 6 PM with a schedule of events starting at 6:15 PM. We ask you to arrive at least 15 minutes early so that the meeting can start at 7 PM. The cost for the evening is $10 for members and $15 for guests. If you would like to join as a member the cost is $25. We encourage all to join.

New Port Richey, a name that should resound as loudly as 'Hollywood'...but it doesn't. Why is that? The Great Depression brought about it's demise. You see, New Port Richey was the playground of the Rich and Famous in the later '20s.
Thomas Meighan and Mr. Sims decided this was to be the next Hollywood, and with the help of some other celebrities, Such as Gloria Swanson, built the Hacienda: the hub of this 'Quaint' town. It might have been considered a quaint town if the rampant prostitution and everyone's easy access to liquor during the prohibition is taken out of the equation. Even Al Capone had been here in the day....even possibly made some coin in the process.
The first 'Talky' Theatre was also built, by Mr. Meighan's brother in dedication to Mr. Meighan. Nothing could go wrong now. The First Bank was just established people were coming in by the droves, and Spirits were high. That is, until Black Tuesday. Then there was despair and tragedy.
Suicides and death rang out.
But this wasn't the only time this had happened...years' before Mr. Meighan's arrival, there had been an epidemic that killed many. Typhoid had claimed numerous victims.
This is but a taste of the stories that linger here and survive to this day.
